Aims and
Objectives
The Charity’s objectives
are:
1.1
The advancement of
the educational attainment of children in
England through the provision of additional
tutorial support in English, Mathematics and
Science (the “Core National Curriculum
Subjects”);
1.2
The advancement
of the educational attainment of children in
England through the provision of additional
support in any subject other that the Core
National Curriculum Subjects as determined
from time to time collectively by the Board
of Trustees;
1.3
The improvement
of personal, social and emotional
development of children in England through
the provisions of team and confidence
building activities; and
1.4
To promote
social integration for the public benefit by
working with members of both the Muslim and
non-Muslim communities to promote
understanding, respect and social harmony
between these groups.
The Charity
Islamic Circles
Supplementary School (ICSS) was set up in
February 2003 as a voluntary organisation to
support underachieving children in Newham.
ICSS is unique
to other supplementary schools as it works with
the community to achieve its aims. It consists
of mainly Muslim children but is based in a
Christian community centre and works closely
with the Church.
ICSS registered
as a charity on 3rd May 2005 and continues to
provide positive role models and support the
underachieving children in Newham.
